IDEA requires each state to have in place a State Performance Plan (SPP) that evaluates its efforts to implement the requirements and purposes of Part B of IDEA and describes how the state will improve such implementation. The District will be required to report on Indicator 13: The “Secondary Transition IEP Review for Students with Disabilities” by August 2021.What is Indicator 13? This is a focused self-review of the content of the school district’s IEPs with respect to transition planning and services. The review focuses on requirements in the following areas:
Parents play an important part in developing IEPs, particularly when it comes to Secondary Transition. In preparation for this Indicator, we invite all parents to participate a workshop on Transition for Families. This workshop is provided by Long Island Regional Partnership Center & School Age Family and Community Engagement Center.
